In addition to living in a comfortable, secure home, assisted living residents may avail themselves to the medical expertise of our staff. Mary Perrotti, RN, Nursing Director, and her RN's work 7 days a week and encourage residents to stop by their office if they have any medical concerns. Dr. Millicent Malcolm, PHD, APRN, gerontologist, holds bi-monthly clinics for her patients at One MacDonough Place. All of our personal care attendants are state certified and work 24 hours a day 7 days per week.
Each year in the spring Dr. Millicent Malcolm hosts an Inter-professional group that meets at OMP consisting of representatives from the Middlesex Hospital family practice program, Middlesex Hospital Homecare, and faculty from the University of Connecticut's APRN, RN, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy schools. This voluntary program works with residents who have medical concerns that an interdisciplinary group might intervene to improve their health.
We offer exercise classes 6 days a week including chair exercises, light weights, relaxation techniques, tai-chi, yoga and bi-monthly a reiki therapist offers complimentary hand and foot massages. A massage therapist makes private resident appointments and a podiatrist has a monthly clinic.
