David Frankel, Program Director, publishes a Weekly Activities Guide that is distributed in our reception area as well as shown on our private cable channel.
Every day you can count on an exercise class, a well-stocked country kitchen, transportation to doctor appointments, an afternoon social hour and an evening movie shown for group viewing and privately on our cable channel in your apartment. You can visit our salon, schedule a massage, manicure or pedicure or enjoy complimentary Reiki on the weekends.
And you can count on weekly concerts, spiritual gatherings, bus trips, shopping excursions, gardening with our horticulturalist, baking classes, bingo, bridge, dominoes, scrabble, checkers – whatever you choose. And if you love to read we have regular visits from the staff at Russell Library, a poet to stimulate our creativity and two book clubs that meet monthly.
Of course you won't want to miss our weekly art classes that allow residents to create some outstanding work. In fact we have been so impressed that each spring One MacDonough Place hosts a gala art open house that you won’t want to miss.
There is also an errand service for the little things you might forget to get on your shopping trip because who wants to wait a week to get something you need today? All of this could not be done without the dedicated volunteer staff that visit One MacDonough each day.
